NickWalters.org - Our Vision for a Personal Brand
Nick Walters: from a personal homepage to a keynote that books itself.
I redesigned NickWalters.org on Squarespace so event planners see one clear offer in seconds: a history professor who turns Lewis & Clark into leadership lessons, and an easy way to book him.
A lot of great work, but no single offer.
The first version of NickWalters.org was a personal brand site. It covered Nick's history work, grant writing and more, which made sense for a homepage but didn't tell an event planner why they should book him.
Nick wanted to grow his speaking business and launch his upcoming book, Beyond the Map. The site needed to lead with one keynote, explain it in plain terms and make booking the obvious next step.
Three moves that turned a homepage into a speaker site.
Lead with the problem he solves
"Is your team stuck navigating change? History has already been there." The hero speaks to event planners, with Book Nick to Speak front and center.
Make one keynote the star
Finding Your Way: Leadership Lessons from Lewis & Clark, with clear formats (60-minute keynote, breakout, half-day retreat) and the 10 topics it covers.
Give him a hook people repeat
"What if Ken Burns and John Maxwell walked onto the stage together?" plus programs for businesses, civic clubs and churches, and a sign-up for the book launch.
Take a look around.

One keynote, three formats, a clear yes.
“Working with Bobby at Simple Web has been a fantastic experience! He's a one-man team who made re-designing and managing my multiple websites incredibly easy.”
